Status Vocabularies (the important ones)
Drillhole lifecycle: planned → approved → drilling → suspended →
completed → abandoned → rehabilitated, with outcome
target_intersected · target_not_intersected · incomplete · lost_hole
Sample lifecycle: planned → collected → prepared → dispatched →
received → assayed → retained → disposed
Assay result: result status provisional → accepted → rejected →
superseded; validation status unchecked → passed / warning / failed
QA/QC outcome: pass · warning · fail — evaluated against certified
values (standards), tolerance (duplicates) and detection limits (blanks);
job-level validation lands accepted · conditionally_accepted · rejected ·
reanalysis_required
Work order: requested → approved → planned → in_progress → completed →
cancelled
Data submission: generated → validating → validation_failed → ready →
submitted → accepted / rejected
Rules of Thumb
- A hole's logs, samples and expenditure all key on the hole — start at the Drillhole and drill down rather than searching child tables directly.
- Every sampling batch carries its QA/QC insertions (blank, certified standard, field duplicate ~1 in 20); a failed standard holds the whole job at conditionally accepted until re-assayed.
- Shift delay hours are classified (weather, mechanical, …) because the drilling contract settles standby differently per cause.
- A completed hole triggers the rehabilitation clock — licence condition C7 gives six months to cap, backfill and respread.
- Below-detection assays are stored with a
less_thanqualifier, not a zero — the regulator's template wants the −LLD convention on export. - Suspect downhole surveys (magnetic interference near mineralisation) are kept and flagged, never deleted — the gyro re-shot supersedes them.
